Štúr

Adéla, the only daughter of a respected nobleman and landowner in Ostrá Lúka, meets an extraordinary man during a visit to her uncle in Zemianské Podhradie. Ludevít Štúr - a scholar, philosopher and poet - rebels against the social conditions in Hungary and risks legal consequences by drawing attention to political injustice. The twenty-year-old Adéla falls passionately in love with him despite her better judgment.

She believes that if she stays close to him, the proud and sarcastic Štúr will return her feelings. She offers him temporary shelter in her small castle, pays him for private philosophy lessons, and uses her father's influence to have him elected to the Hungarian Diet. Just as her plan seems to be working, revolution breaks out - and Štúr finds himself caught in events that will forever change Europe and their fate.
