Brno Philharmonic presents its New Year Concert on Friday, 1 January 2027 at 7 p.m. in the Besední dům on Komenského náměstí. The programme features film music by Rota, Hisaishi, Williams and Bernstein alongside Korngold's Cello Concerto. Works include La strada, Merry-Go-Round, the Star Wars main theme and On the Waterfront. Founded in 1956, the Brno Philharmonic ranks among the Czech Republic's leading orchestras and performs in the neo-Renaissance Besední dům, designed by Viennese architect Theophil von Hansen. This concert is one of two Brno performances the orchestra has scheduled for January.

About the venue: Brno Philharmonic

Filharmonie Brno is a symphony orchestra founded in 1956 through the merger of the Brno Radio and Regional orchestras, ranking among the top Czech orchestras. It is based in the neo-Renaissance Besední dům designed by Viennese architect Theophil von Hansen, and has been known as a Janáček orchestra since its earliest days. It organises festivals including Moravian Autumn, the Easter Festival of Sacred Music, and a summer open-air festival at Špilberk Castle. On tour, the orchestra performs across Europe, the USA, Latin America, and the Far and Near East.
