Carl Orff's monumental cantata Carmina Burana will be performed under the baton of chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies with the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno as the finale of the 27th season of the Špilberk open-air festival.

Filharmonie Brno is a symphony orchestra founded in 1956 through the merger of the Brno Radio and Regional orchestras, ranking among the top Czech orchestras. It is based in the neo-Renaissance Besední dům designed by Viennese architect Theophil von Hansen, and has been known as a Janáček orchestra since its earliest days. It organises festivals including Moravian Autumn, the Easter Festival of Sacred Music, and a summer open-air festival at Špilberk Castle. On tour, the orchestra performs across Europe, the USA, Latin America, and the Far and Near East.

Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno is a professional mixed choir based in Brno, founded in 1990. Under chief choirmaster Petr Fiala, it performs a wide repertoire spanning Renaissance to contemporary music, including symphonic, operatic, and sacred works. The choir regularly collaborates with leading Czech and international orchestras.
