Opening of the 2026 Spa Season in Františkovy Lázně

On 15 and 16 May 2026, Františkovy Lázně will host the ceremonial opening of the 233rd spa season – a traditional city-wide celebration held continuously since 1793. Entry to all events is free.
Friday's programme (15 May) begins at 14:00 with a festival zone at the Františkův Spring featuring gastronomic specialities (grilled food, Italian corner, pastry shop, traditional Czech cuisine, cocktail bar, Pilsner Urquell beer, spa wafers). At 15:00 there will be a culinary show with Markéta Hrubešová, from 16:00 DJ Koucký will perform, and at 19:30 the band Sto zvířat will take the stage with their blend of ska, rocksteady and swing. In the evening at 18:00, the Colonnade of the Salt and Meadow Springs will host the opening of exhibitions: "Your Tree", abstract works by Linda von Thun and works by students of the Járy Cimrmana Music School.
Saturday's programme (16 May) begins at 8:00 with the city's awakening – a procession of majorettes and the Cheb Municipal Wind Orchestra. At 9:30 a solemn mass will be held in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, at 10:30 the market opens on Národní Street, at 11:00 a procession along Národní Street, and at 11:15 the ceremonial opening in the music pavilion at Františkův Spring with the blessing of Františkův Spring and the Glauber Springs. The gastro zone is open 14:00–22:00. Since 2021, Františkovy Lázně has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
