Description was written before the event

Metastavy returns to performing after two years with a concert on 3 September 2026 at Žižkárna.

The band features Anna Hokešová, Ursula Sereghy, Ashley Abrman, Marek Pach, and Nodin Péči. Their music blends neosoul, jazz, hip-hop, and poetry - Anna Hokešová's lyrics explore growing up in the city, love, and dreams.

Formed in 2018, the band introduced itself to a wider audience with their debut album Až vyrostu (2019). Their second album Žhnoucí ticho was released in 2023.

About the venue: Žižkárna

Žižkárna is a cultural and creative centre and music club set in the former Žižka Barracks on Žižkova třída in České Budějovice. The neo-Renaissance barracks complex was built in 1890-1892 for Infantry Regiment No. 28 and renamed after the Hussite commander Jan Žižka after 1918. Today it hosts concerts across a wide range of genres - punk, metal, folk, techno and more - along with markets and other events from spring through autumn.

About: Metastavy

Metastavy is a Czech band formed in Brno in 2018, blending neosoul, jazz and hip-hop with poetic lyrics by Anna Hokešová about growing up, love and city life. Their debut album Až vyrostu (2019) brought them wider attention, followed by Žhnoucí ticho in 2023.

About: Anna Hokešová

Metastavy frontwoman Anna Hokešová builds her delivery on the border between song and spoken word - her verses about everyday inner states form the backbone of the Prague quartet that weaves together neo-soul, jazz and hip-hop. The band is returning to stages after an announced hiatus.
