I Swear It's Not My Fault

Fifteen-year-old John (Robert Aramayo) suddenly develops Tourette syndrome with uncontrollable vocal and physical tics. Shame prevents him from forming relationships, the world around him doesn't know or understand his condition - and John finds himself in ever-deepening isolation.

This British film, based on the true story of John Davidson, follows his adolescence: initially carefree, then disrupted by harsh estrangement from a world that rejects him. A turning point comes when he meets Dottie (Maxine Peake), an energetic mother of a former classmate, who opens the door to support and understanding. Gradually he finds the courage to face his own life - and even the ability to use his condition with humour to raise awareness. Perhaps even the British queen will notice.
