Peter Mullan (born 2 November 1959 in Peterhead) is a Scottish actor, director and writer who has worked across theatre, film and television. He is best known for supporting roles in Braveheart and Trainspotting and for the lead role in My Name Is Joe, and he won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for directing The Magdalene Sisters. More recently he has appeared in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and took a lead role in the acclaimed drama I Swear.
Peter Mullan was cast in the new film Mountain directed by Celyn Jones, alongside Iwan Rheon and Rebecca Lucy Taylor.
