The People perform in Český Krumlov on Sunday, 17 January 2027 at Zámecká jízdárna, a baroque building from the mid-18th century within the castle grounds. The concert Vzpomínka na Karla Gotta a českou písničku is one of four Czech dates for the group and honours legends of Czech popular music - Karel Gott, Marie Rottrová, Waldemar Matuška and Věra Špinarová. The People blend classic hits with their own compositions in a pop-rock style. The historic venue on Dlouhá Street provides a distinctive setting for this project celebrating Czech musical heritage.

About the venue: Castle Riding Hall

The Castle Riding Hall is a Baroque building from 1744-1746 in the grounds of Český Krumlov Castle, built in the Viennese Rococo style at the behest of Prince Josef Adam of Schwarzenberg. It was designed by Viennese architect Andreas Altomonte, with stucco decoration by sculptor Jan Antonín Zinner. After World War II the hall served as a gymnasium and scenery store; it was converted for cultural use in the 1970s. Today it hosts concerts of the International Music Festival Český Krumlov, balls, conferences and wedding receptions, with a capacity of up to 700 seats.

About: The People

A thirteen-strong Brno outfit whose brass-heavy sound draws on Janáček Academy graduates and theatre orchestra veterans. On stage they move freely between pop, funk, swing and full-throttle rock - all in their own arrangements, with a live show that gets the crowd moving.
