Sand Sculptures in Lednice 2026

The Sand Sculptures exhibition "Sandy World" takes place annually in Lednice, Moravia, from April through the end of October in an area near the main car park, close to Lednice Castle. The exhibition's creator and initiator is sculptor Michal Olšiak from Žďár nad Sázavou, who first organized it in Lednice fourteen years ago. Each year is devoted to a specific theme — for 2026, the theme is "Role Reversal: People and Animals". The sculptures are created exclusively from sea sand and water; after completion, they are treated with a hardening solution, allowing them to last throughout the season. Each year, a group of sculptors from the Czech Republic and abroad contributes to the creation. The exhibition in Lednice runs from early April until October 25, 2026, and is accessible on selected days during the off-season and daily during the main season. The site is within sight of the main car park, near Lednice Castle, which is part of the Lednice-Valtice area inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
