The Bad Plus (USA)

The Bad Plus now operates as a quartet - alongside founding members bassist Reid Anderson and drummer Dave King, two musicians from the New York jazz scene have joined: guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed.

The band's music resists genre categorization, moving across the intersection of avant-garde jazz, alternative rock, contemporary classical music, and hip-hop. The four musicians play in tight interplay, with electric guitar and saxophone giving their sound a distinctly new character compared to the original trio.
