50 Years of Punk Celebration: Degradace + The Trousers + Copycats

A celebration of 50 years of punk. The occasion will also feature the launch of Rudee's book of interviews with leading figures of the punk era.

The musical programme will be led by Ostrava stalwarts Degradace, with special guests Hungarian band The Trousers and acoustic punk ensemble Copycats.

The concert will take place in an intimate atmosphere (inspired by 1970s punk clubs) on the small stage of Barrák Music Club.

Fifty years ago, in April 1976, Ramones released their debut album and sparked a musical revolution. In June of that year, The Clash played their first concert, and three months later the first punk festival was held at London's 100 Club. The Damned released the first British punk single in October, and shortly after, Sex Pistols delivered the legendary anthem Anarchy in the U.K. What followed was the infamous Bill Grundy show and the chaotic Anarchy Tour. The inevitable punk explosion forever changed the face of music.
