About the venue: Broumov Monastery

The Benedictine Monastery of Broumov, a national cultural monument perched on a rocky spur above the Stěnava river in the centre of Broumov, was founded in the 14th century. In the early 18th century, Kryštof Dientzenhofer and his son Kilián Ignác rebuilt the complex in the Baroque style. The year-round tour circuit includes the Church of St. Adalbert, a refectory housing a unique 1651 copy of the Turin Shroud – the only one in Central Europe north of the Alps – and a historic library. The monastery is home to the Educational and Cultural Centre Broumov, which organises concerts, exhibitions and educational programmes.

Breezy Rodio is a Chicago-based guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter working at the crossroads of traditional blues, electric soul, and R&B. His repertoire spans blues classics from the 1940s to the present, mixing original compositions with covers associated with B. B. King, T-Bone Walker, and Ray Charles. Living Blues magazine has called him a key figure on the Chicago blues scene.
