MIZU — Loděnice Ostrava, Ostrava

MOVE Ostrava, TANEC PRAHA and Léto v centru present the Japanese-French production MIZU in Ostrava. It combines dance, contemporary circus, puppetry and natural elements - specifically ice and water.

The performance takes place directly on the water's surface. In the middle stands a pontoon with a monumental wooden structure resembling a crescent moon, on which a human figure made of ice comes to life. From the moment it awakens, it begins to slowly disappear. (It is recommended to bring a blanket and watch the performance from a shelter on the Ostravice riverbank.)

An intimate dialogue unfolds between dancer and choreographer Satchie Noro and an ice puppet, operated by puppeteer Sarah Lascar. Bodies suspended on the structure levitate and intertwine, gazing into each other's eyes to meditative melodies and sharing moments of quiet embrace. The warmth of their touch gradually transforms the puppet - the ice melts, drops fall to the ground, entire pieces shatter gently against the floor.

MIZU (water in Japanese) is a production about transience and the beauty of moments that cannot be stopped. It is suitable for children from 4 years old and adults.

The production is created in collaboration with the international festival TANEC PRAHA, as part of the Léto v centru programme and with the permission of the Ostravice River Basin Authority.

Tickets can be purchased on a "Pay What You Can" basis - choose from the offered prices according to your financial situation and love of dance.
