INK Exhibition – Painter SimOna Vinš
Zámek Konojedy kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, Úštěk
The INK exhibition presents Japanese-style Sumi-e paintings by artist SimOna Vinš. The works are displayed in the oratory of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, part of the Konojedy Castle estate near Úštěk. The exhibition is accessible during regular visiting hours of the estate – in season from April to November, every Saturday and Sunday from 10–12 and 14–16.
The paintings feature the four gentlemen of traditional East Asian art: orchid, bamboo, plum blossom, and chrysanthemum. Sumi-e technique aims to create a simplified image of a natural subject through simple brushstrokes, capturing the essential impression. Painting is a form of meditation that brings the artist inner satisfaction, relief, and a sense of harmony. The technique uses traditional ink painting with brushes made from natural materials and rice paper. The magic of line rhythm, shadow, and movement reflects the painter's state of mind.
