SimOna Vinš

About

SimOna Vinš, born Simona Němcová, is a Czech painter working in the traditional Japanese sumi-e ink technique. She first encountered the style in 2004 at the Edina Art Center in Minnesota, where she has lived since 1993, and has since exhibited in both the US and Europe. A member of the Sumi-e Society of America, her work blends Japanese calligraphy with a modern sensibility, with recurring motifs such as bamboo, orchid and plum blossom.
