Michal Prokop, a singer known for the band Framus Five and the genres of blues, rock, and soul, celebrates his eightieth birthday in 2026. For this occasion, he will perform at Dundee Jam in Kladno in an acoustic trio with violinist Jan Hrubý and guitarist Pavel Marzel.
The trio of Prokop, Andršt, and Hrubý functioned from 1987 as a loose association of three personalities from the Czech music scene. Following the death of Luboš Andršt, the ensemble continues with guitarist Pavel Marzel.
Prokop began his musical career in the 1960s while studying at university. He is a composer, guitarist, broadcaster, and former politician. His awards include the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic (1995), the title of best singer at the 1st Czechoslovak Beat Festival in Prague (1967), Singer of the Year from Melodie magazine (1988), two-time membership in the Beat Hall of Fame on Radio Beat (2007, 2017), and several platinum and gold records.
