from 150 Kč · ≈ 6 €

An organ recital performed by Pavel Černý, organist of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, pedagogue at Prague Conservatory, and titular organist of the Royal Collegiate Chapter at Prague's Vyšehrad, where he is co-founder and artistic director of the international Organ Vyšehrad festival.

The programme features works by J. S. Bach (Prelude in E-flat major BWV 552a; Jesu bleibet meine Freude from Cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben No. 147 in Maurice Duruflé's organ transcription), Ch. Widor (Aria from the collection Bach's Memento — a paraphrase on Bach's Prelude in E minor for piano; Toccata from Symphony No. 5), T. Dubois (Marcietta), J. Klička (Fantasy on themes from Bedřich Smetana's symphonic poem Vyšehrad) and Pavel Černý's own Improvisation on B-A-C-H.

The concert takes place in the Baroque Basilica of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Hejnice, one of the most significant Marian pilgrimage sites in Bohemia, Lusatia and Lower Silesia. The church, built in the early 18th century, was designed by Prague architect Thomas Haffenecker. Organizer: Dvořák Festival (Agentura Braunensis Art Productions s.r.o.).
