About the venue: Křivoklát Castle

Křivoklát is one of the oldest and best-preserved royal castles in Bohemia, with roots going back to the 12th century. The Přemyslid dynasty used it as a hunting residence, and a later Gothic rebuilding gave it the form it largely retains today. Managed by the National Heritage Institute, the castle opens its interiors to visitors year-round, including a Gothic chapel and a medieval torture chamber.

About: Jaromír Hanzlík

A native of Český Těšín who skipped drama school and went straight onto the Vinohrady Theatre stage, Hanzlík became the face of a generation - as Dr. Jandera in Sanitka, Uncle Pepin in Cutting It Short, or Hamlet. His touring one-man show Úsměvy Jaromíra Hanzlíka takes him across Czech towns, where he shares behind-the-scenes stories from decades of film and theatre.
