Lukáš Cígler: HRP - Europe's Toughest Trek?
Bio Oko, Prague · 260 Kč · ≈ 11 €
At nineteen, Lukáš set out alone on the Haute Randonnée Pyrénéenne (HRP) - a crossing of the entire Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, which many consider Europe's most challenging long-distance trek. Over 27 days on the route, he conquered significant elevation gain, harsh high-altitude terrain, and solitude, documenting the journey with his camera.
In his lecture, he will show photographs and videos from the trail and speak about the limits of his own strength, the freedom of solo travel, and the Pyrenean ridges. He will discuss determination, solitude, and the drive to reach the end - and whether the HRP truly lives up to its uncompromising reputation.
Following the lecture at 20:30, there will be a premiere of the international documentary FLOW about women pushing boundaries in the wild. A discounted 2-for-1 ticket for the entire evening is available at biooko.net/diaky.
Lukáš Cígler (21) discovered mountains early - at seventeen, he set out on his first solo trek, completing the Tour du Mont Blanc, and a year later tackled the French section of GR5. Today he has thousands of kilometres behind him and completed hundred-kilometre trail races, hiking with an ultralight pack. Trekking gear fascinated him so much that he specialised in ultralight equipment under 7 kilos, which he combines with studies at the Czech University of Life Sciences. Last year he crossed the Pyrenees solo along the HRP route and shares his travel experiences on YouTube and other platforms. He believes his greatest adventure still lies ahead.
