The Sternberks: Nobility Loyal to the Land

The Sternberks are not only connected to the era of the monarchy - they also contributed to the founding of our republic. This family, which suffered a cruel blow this year, has produced so many distinguished members that it would be difficult to speak of them all at once.

The walk traces the mark left by the Sternberks on Hradčany and Malá Strana through five key figures. Each represents not only their family but an entire generation, or a particular type of aristocrat - five stories, five different fates, one lineage that did not disappear from Czech history with the end of the monarchy.
