Petřín - Hill of Memory and Miracles
A guided walk through Petřín starting from the top of the hill and descending via its northern and eastern slopes to the base at Újezd.
Participants will learn that Petřín is no ordinary hill - legends tell of strange phenomena occurring here since the 10th century, when ancient deities resisted the spread of Christianity. The tour covers the mine shafts and springs that run through the hill. You will see a statue of the Virgin Mary that crossed the Atlantic twice before arriving at Petřín, and a litopuncture stele believed to have a beneficial influence on the surrounding area. The guide will also discuss hermits and bandits who once lived here, and houses with remarkable histories - one of them hosts a world created from an artist's imagination.
Meeting point: upper cable car station on Petřín. The walk ends at the lower station. Your guide is Yveta Kožíšková. The terrain is passable with a stroller (including stairs), but not suitable for wheelchair users.
Tickets must be purchased in advance - they are not sold on-site for hygiene and tax reasons.
