Dance Partnering and Basic Acrobatics
Janáčkova konzervatoř, Ostrava
A partnering workshop for beginners with no prior experience. This class starts from the very basics and is open to anyone who wants to try it without previous knowledge - and you don't even need a partner.
The lesson begins at the foundation level. Specially for the Circus Nights event, this partnering workshop welcomes people with little or no experience, no acrobatic background, and no worry that others will be ten somersaults ahead.
Under the guidance of Michaela Kadlčíková and Matyáš Ramba, participants will discover what happens when a second person enters the movement: how to transfer weight, find shared balance, work safely with contact, and communicate without words. Starting from simple principles, the class gradually progresses to the basics of partner acrobatics.
Michaela Kadlčíková and Matyáš Ramba work at the intersection of contemporary dance, physical theatre, and new circus. As performers and creators, they have collaborated with ensembles including 420PEOPLE, Losers Cirque Company, Lenka Vagnerová & Company, and other projects on the Czech and international scene. They are co-founders of the DoubleSalt collective, where they combine dance, acrobatics, and physical theatre in their creative work.
