Tomoki Sanders — Valea Caffé, Letovice

Tomoki Sanders is one of the most interesting young figures on the contemporary New York jazz scene. The son of legendary saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, he was surrounded by music from early childhood - he started playing drums at age four, later adding clarinet and saxophone, which became his primary instrument.

After studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he settled in New York, where he earned respect as a tenor saxophonist with an open approach to various musical styles. In his work, jazz tradition naturally merges with influences from soul, hip-hop, electronics, and experimental music, without losing his own musical identity.

He has collaborated with many significant contemporary musicians - including Ravi Coltrane, Kassa Overall, Moses Sumney, Maurice Brown, Taylor McFerrin, and Jack DeJohnette. Despite his famous father's legacy, he has forged his own artistic path and is recognized as an independent, distinctive, and even eccentric figure of the new generation of American jazz.

His playing is characterized by energetic expression and the ability to move naturally in both club jazz settings and projects that transcend genre boundaries.
