Poems in Dlouhá: Petr Borkovec

Poetry and theatre share more in common than one might think - on a small stage, both play for everything. An entire world can be born and end in a single verse, just as a complete human fate can unfold on a few metres of stage in a single evening.

Poetry has been at home in Divadlo v Dlouhé since its founding, and the Poems in Dlouhá cycle proudly continues this tradition. It invites representatives of the contemporary poetry scene to present their work alongside the theatre's actors and with musical accompaniment.

The first poetry evening of the new season takes place on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. Petr Borkovec's poems will be read by Veronika Lazorčáková, the evening will be hosted by Petr Gojda, and gambist Ian Mikyska will provide musical accompaniment.
