Guided Walk: Vinohrady Under the Protectorate
Studio 1 - Czech Radio, Prague
This guided walk explores life in Prague's Vinohrady district during the Nazi Protectorate and the fighting that took place there during the Prague Uprising.
Participants will see traces of these battles, homes of resistance fighters, and locations connected to Nazi collaborators and Gestapo informants. The route passes through places where people lived who helped paratroopers, where resistance members met, hid, and were arrested. The walk is led by documentary filmmaker František Štambera from Paměti národa (Memories of Nations).
The meeting point is at 17:30 in front of the Czech Radio building at Vinohradská 12. The route covers four kilometers and the walk will last approximately 2 hours. It concludes at the Paměti národa headquarters at Španělská 10, where participants will enjoy coffee, tea, and traditional Czech cake along with further stories and screenings.
