Lenka Křížová and Kateřina Konopová: Women and Men in the Age of Antonín Dvořák — Památník Antonína Dvořáka, Vysoká u Příbrami
Description was written before the event

The third public gathering in the Kounitz Salon in Vysoká explores the relationship between women and men in the second half of the 19th century.

Historian Lenka Křížová specializes in Czech cultural history of the 19th century, gender history, and the history of emigration. She works at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and lives in Turnov. For the exhibition "Women at Vysoká" at the Antonín Dvořák Memorial, she gave an interview about the world of women and men in Dvořák's era, and will explore the same theme in the Kounitz Salon.

Pianist Kateřina Konopová will provide musical accompaniment with compositions that might have been heard in bourgeois salons at the end of the 19th century.

The evening is moderated by Vojtěch Poláček, director of the Antonín Dvořák Memorial.
