Guided Tour of the Květa Kovářová Exhibition with the Curator

This guided tour explores the work of sculptor Květa Kovářová (1925-1966), a graduate of Josef Wagner's studio. Her artistic journey spans from figurative sculpture in the 1950s to abstracted forms and monumental architectural installations. The tour will discuss her relationship with the human figure, the importance of preparatory drawings, and her experiments with new materials including laminate.

The tour will also address the artist's life and professional circumstances, and examine why the work of such a significant sculptor remained largely overlooked for so long. The exhibition opens a broader conversation about the position and neglect of female sculptors in Czechoslovak art of the second half of the 20th century.

The artist will be introduced by curator Eliška Nováková.
