Jiří Kroupa, a master craftsman at an agricultural machinery factory, could be promoted — but only if he completes evening technical school. Mr. Kroupa fiercely resists, but eventually gives in to pressure from the workshop committee and enrolls. His son attends the same school, and by day they even sit in the same classroom. Suddenly it becomes clear that the father is performing far worse than his son. Can the parent restore his reputation and hold his own against the professors and classmates?
