Mr. Jíš manages to sell his first screenplay to Barrandov Studios. Already during the preparation phase, he discovers with horror that the filmmakers have completely ignored his intention — instead of a probe into the life of a contemporary village, they are preparing a grand musical show, which they are convinced will be a box-office hit.
