SBCRtalk x Daniel Polman ULTRA TOUR

An evening with ultramarathon cyclist, journalist, and author Daniel Polman. The programme begins with a screening of his new film from the ULTRA TOUR project, followed by a discussion where you can ask questions and explore what it means to be an "ultrapak" - someone who sees cycling as a way of thinking, a challenge, and personal transformation. Daniel will also present his new book "Six Thousand in Flight".

In July 2025, Daniel Polman embarked on the Ultra Tour project: with no external support, he cycled the entire Tour de France route, including all transfers between the 21 stages that professional teams normally cover by bus. He aimed to reach Paris before the yellow jersey winner - and succeeded with a three-day lead. The numbers are staggering: 6,013 kilometres, 19 days and 7 hours, over 4,000 metres of elevation daily, averaging 311 kilometres per day, and less than 3 hours of sleep.

During the discussion, Daniel will share the race's history, his experiences, and the remarkable moments he encountered along the route.
