The Price of Care
The House of Arts of the City of Brno presents a performance by the theatre collective Miktro-teatro on Thursday, 4 November at 19:00. The event is part of the Brno Book Open festival.
The production is inspired by the life and work of architect Růžena Žertová. The story intertwines the fates of three women - Růžena, Alice, and Šárka - who achieved success in architecture and were united by the final wish of the eldest: to bequeath her family home to the public and die at home. Yet despite their determination, they failed to achieve this common goal. The story asks: "How much attention do buildings from the second half of the 20th century deserve? What value do a person's last wishes hold? Can we appreciate the invisible care of women?"
The project was realized with financial support from the State Fund for Culture, the City of Brno, and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
