About the venue: Vila Engelsmann

Vila Engelsmann is a neo-Baroque villa built in 1931–1932 on Hlinky Street in Brno for textile industrialist and art collector Felix Engelsmann. The L-shaped building with a mansard roof and grand street façade stands in stark contrast to the functionalism dominant at the time. The owners fled the Nazi occupation in 1939; the villa was confiscated and later nationalised. Today it is privately owned and available for event hire and guided tours.

About: Petr Soukup

Petr Soukup (born 1987) is a Czech poet, lyricist, and stand-up comedian. He has written song lyrics for artists such as Lucie Bílá, Monika Bagárová, and the band Abraxas, and co-authored the Czech adaptation of the musical Matilda. He has published several poetry collections and recorded two albums with musician Jiří Vidasov.

About: Pavla Fendrichová

Pavla Fendrichová is a Czech singer, choirmaster and voice pedagogue who teaches at DAMU (Prague's Theatre Faculty) and collaborates with Dejvické divadlo and Divadlo Minor. She takes a holistic approach to the voice, working with actors, singers and amateurs alike, and has led vocal workshops in Germany, Sweden and Switzerland. She also directs the women's choir Chrpy.
