Držím ti miesto
Divadlo Husa na provázku, Brno
A Czechoslovak party.
They are taking our jobs. And university places. They kept the most beautiful mountains and potato dumplings for themselves. And that temperament too — they could have sent us some of that. But at least we have someone to look down on benevolently and feel a bit bigger and better. Hey, Jožo, say "řeřicha"! And what does your "drevokocúr" mean? Czechs and Slovaks. Westerners and Easterners. Czechs and Slovaks. Brothers, or eternal rivals?
Are we still cool even after our split? Are we a wound and a knife? Two fools on the sea? Do we just give each other nice names? Or do we have a thousand reasons for a hundred breakups? Do we still understand each other?
A staged concert directed by Anna Davidová, in which a newly assembled band made up of all members of the ensemble will play Slovak melodies and Czech stereotypes. An evening — a party — as a renewed conversation between nations that were not divided even by state borders.
Performed in the Provázek courtyard. But what times are these that flash above the Tatras now?
