Jirka Plocek: Notes of a Wandering Folklorist from Abroad

Publicist, music publisher and musician Jiří Plocek (formerly of Poutníci with Robert Křesťan) will present his new book, a collection of texts from 1992–2012: diary entries from Italy and reportage from Spain, Cyprus, Banat, Taiwan and Albania. The journeys that took him to these places were mostly motivated by music, but also gave him insight into various cultural and social environments.

The author intersperses his reading with live music in his own performance – playing the mandolin and singing – drawing primarily from his solo album "Cestou k naději" (On the Path to Hope).
