Against All Odds - Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail
Tue, 24 Nov 2026 · 19:00
A lecture about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), which runs through the wilderness of the western United States - from California's deserts through snow-capped mountain peaks to the deep forests of Oregon and Washington. Šimon Brázda shares stories of grueling days when he had to face nature as a wild force, as well as moments of beauty, freedom, and friendship experienced along the way.
You will learn what happens to gear during a helicopter rescue, what it is like to trek 1,000 km through snowy mountains, what goes through a person's mind when swept away by a wild river, or how to behave when a forest fire approaches. The lecture is based on personal experiences and describes the challenges this journey brings.
Speaker: Šimon Brázda.
