White Ravens

They met in different ways, on life's paths, but got to know each other only in a club. In the White Ravens in the Black Fields. In a basement behind metal doors. Where on the wall, right next to Nirvana, hangs a poster of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton from Fight Club. Where water keeps dripping from the pipes, where a draft blows that makes your eardrums and heart ache. Where from the ceiling, besides flickering fluorescent lights, hang several punching bags, and cardboard boxes lie on the ground instead of tatami mats. Also in the corner that torn mat with ingrained dust and blood, where people slept, made love, and threw up.

And they gather there twice a week. They are from Brno, from Blansk, from Napajedla, from Trenčín... they are from all over the world, from all galaxies. Hard music beats into their heads, live and full force, even harder blows drive into their bodies.

"Why do you do it? Because you feel it, you understand..? Not mentally, but physically. Because those bruises, man, girl, are real! Beat it out of yourself, get it out! Wake up!"

With sweat and exhaustion comes purification, with pain comes a new day. A man or woman of your life will come. Understanding will come... Or nothing will come, because Marta will close this place in a few weeks and start working at the degreaser. And if she doesn't start again, it will still close here because of hygiene, social services or neighbors. Fuck it!

Touch the bottom, touch the truth! Can there be heaven on the floor? When a nun boxes, anything is possible... God sees it.
