Body, Home, Soul

Arnoldova vila, Brno

"The body remembers more than we are willing to admit." In the lecture Body, Home, Soul, Martina Viktorie Kopecká explores how life experience—relational, familial, and spiritual—is inscribed in the nervous system, body posture, and the way we inhabit our own world.

The lecture draws on Pesso Boyden psychomotor therapy (PBSP), Stephen Porges' polyvagal theory, and the books The Body in Psychotherapy by Edward W. L. Smith and Working with the Body in Psychotherapy by Manuela Reeds. It seeks answers to questions about what it means to feel "at home" in one's own body, how bodily regulation relates to a sense of safety, and how work with the body can open the path to integrating mental and spiritual life.

The theoretical framework will be connected with concrete examples from therapeutic practice.
