Trumpeter, composer, painter and bandleader Laco Deczi returns to the Czech Republic with his ensemble Celula New York.

The lineup is expanded this time with two new members: saxophonist, vocalist and actor Petr Kroutil (known as Danny from the Prima sezóna series) and eighteen-year-old bassist Samuel Janko from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. Keyboardist Walter Fischbacher remains a core member, while drummer Vaico Deczi holds down the rhythm section.

Slovak-born Laco Déczi, a New York resident since 1985, brings his band Celula New York back to Europe. The four-piece draws on hard bop and electric fusion, with Déczi's well-known between-song commentary adding a distinctive edge to every show.

Slovak-born Laco Déczi is one of Central Europe's longest-active jazz trumpeters, with more than six decades on stage. Touring with his New York band Celula, he brings a blend of hard bop and electric fusion that he first honed in Prague's clubs of the 1960s and has kept refining ever since.
