Operation Escape

Post Bellum, z. ú., pobočka Paměť národa Jižní Čechy, České Budějovice 1

1 500 Kč (bez ohledu na počet hráčů) · ≈ 62 €

An escape game inspired by the true story of two young Budějovice residents, Jaroslav Kaska and Jan Mašek, who were among the most successful Western agents and smugglers of the 1950s.

"Enter a safe house at the beginning of 1950 and make your way to the West! Besides courage, a sharp mind, and good teammates, you need nothing else. However, knowledge of conspiracy principles and modern history may come in handy. Danger lurks everywhere and the State Security is tightening the noose — time to escape to freedom is running out!"

Following the communist takeover in 1948, many Czechoslovak citizens chose active resistance — distributing anti-communist publications, providing information to Western intelligence services, smuggling people, or working as agents. Among the hundreds and thousands who attempted resistance in the 1950s were two young friends from Budějovice, Jaroslav Kaska and Jan Mašek — among the most successful Western agents and smugglers of their time.

Game Details:

The game is designed for 1–4 players; the price is a flat 1,500 CZK regardless of the number of players. Players have a maximum of 90 minutes to complete the tasks. Recommended age is 14 and up. The game requires no physical strength, contains no horror elements, and has no demanding lighting or sound effects. Players are not locked in anywhere — their task is different from escaping a locked room. "The most oppressive cage is the entire People's Democratic Republic of that era!"

The game is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (stairs are involved), visual or hearing impairments. Staff are present throughout the game, monitoring the situation via a camera system; players can leave at any time.

Game times are regularly published in the booking system. Gift vouchers for the game are available through the GoOut network or can be issued individually by the South Bohemian Memory of Nations office after prior telephone or email arrangement — in that case, personal pickup at the game location is required.
