Gerald James Clark, a singer, guitarist and composer from South Africa, performs this time in a duo with Czech blues guitarist Jiří Maršíček.

Clark has released five albums recorded with leading South African musicians. His album Black Water received international acclaim, and the music video for the title track was nominated for an MTV Europe award. He has performed in sixteen countries and was nominated for a SAMA (South African Music Awards) for best live performance and non-commercial multi-genre music.

His latest album Afrocoustic combines blues, country, rock and folk rock with roots in traditional South African music.

About the venue: Broumov Monastery

The Benedictine Monastery of Broumov, a national cultural monument perched on a rocky spur above the Stěnava river in the centre of Broumov, was founded in the 14th century. In the early 18th century, Kryštof Dientzenhofer and his son Kilián Ignác rebuilt the complex in the Baroque style. The year-round tour circuit includes the Church of St. Adalbert, a refectory housing a unique 1651 copy of the Turin Shroud – the only one in Central Europe north of the Alps – and a historic library. The monastery is home to the Educational and Cultural Centre Broumov, which organises concerts, exhibitions and educational programmes.
