Even a Shaman Is Just Human

Lucie Čiháková spent three years in Ecuador, where five indigenous communities welcomed her as a family member. In this lecture, she shares how indigenous people in the Ecuadorian jungle actually live - what they eat, how they spend their days, how different nations differ from each other, and where conflicts arise. She describes her journey from idealizing shamans to accepting personal responsibility for her own life.

The meeting will include a traditional tobacco ritual inspired by Amazonian traditions. Lucie will offer tobacco water brought from Ecuador and explain the significance of tobacco as taught to her by the people from the communities she lived with.

After the lecture, she will present the opportunity to travel with her directly to indigenous communities and experience their jungle way of life firsthand.
