An adaptation of the second volume of Karl Ove Knausgaard's novel explores partnership as a space where the desire to be a loving father collides with the need to be a writer. Director Jan Mikulášek and dramaturg Dora Štědroňová trace small conflicts, exhaustion, awkward moments and returns to intimacy - naming what almost everyone knows with a precision that cuts deep.

Miloslav König in the lead role balances charm, selfishness and fragility - an enchanting intellectual, an exhausted parent, a narcissistic author who claims his own story even as it wounds others. The production opens a troubling question: who has the right to tell the story of a shared life - and what becomes of those who find themselves as characters within it?

Marek Cpin's set transforms an ordinary apartment into a battlefield, exposing the tension between the ideal of equal partnership and a reality where deep-rooted male privilege persists. The production originated at the Theatre Na zábradlí; Miloslav König won the Theatre Critics' Prize for his male performance, and the Theatre Na zábradlí was named Theatre of the Year.
