International Festival Divadelná Nitra 2026

The 35th edition of the International Festival Divadelná Nitra takes place from 25 to 30 September 2026 in Nitra.

Since 1992, the festival has presented contemporary theatre from various countries, complemented by discussions, concerts, workshops and community programmes. This jubilee edition returns to its traditional autumn schedule under the subtitle "Future is now!" - exploring what kind of legacy we choose to leave for future generations.

This year's festival operates in a crisis version: for the first time in its history, it did not receive support from the Arts Support Fund. It takes place thanks to exceptional support from the Nitra Self-Governing Region, the City of Nitra, the International Visegrad Fund, EFFEA - an initiative of the European Festivals Association co-financed by the European Union, VÚB Foundation, LITA Fund, E.sk Foundation, SPP Foundation, the City of Bratislava, the Open Society Foundation - Ü Foundation Fund, and other partners, as well as the public who supported the festival through collections on StartLab and Darujme.sk.

The main organizer is the Association Divadelná Nitra in cooperation with the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra, the Creative Centre Nitra, the Nitra Self-Governing Region and the City of Nitra. More information at nitrafest.sk.
