Rewrite History: Who Is "Normal"?
Fri, 9 Oct 2026 · 18:00
What did it mean to be disadvantaged in the past? And who actually decided what was normal?
This live performance of the Rewrite History podcast will focus on Czech and Czechoslovak history through the eyes of those who found themselves on the margins of society for various reasons - from war invalids to residents of institutions and students of special schools, to people labeled as incapable, maladjusted, or simply unnecessary.
How did the boundary between help and exclusion change over time? Why did we so often measure human worth by the ability to work? The history of disadvantage is ultimately the history of a society that had the power to decide who was "normal" and who was not.
