Motani - Viva Mexico — Velký sál Záložny, Litovel

Kateřina and Miloš Motani return to the Yucatán with new places, stories, and adventures. From the start of their journey, the police take a suspicious interest in them. Then comes the Caribbean with turquoise waters, swimming with dolphins and rays, and an expedition to find whale sharks - the world's largest fish, reaching up to 14 meters. They explore cenotes (cave lakes, caves, and underground rivers) where schools of biting fish live or where the Maya threw human sacrifices. In the tropical jungle they encounter crocodiles, coatis, raccoons, and spider monkeys - and the brave can let a venomous tarantula tickle their belly.

The journey leads to the Maya cities of Tulum, Calakmul, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal, and Palenque, where pyramids, ancient mysteries, and traditional rituals await - the ball game pelota or the performance of the flying men voladores. The Motanis also glimpse the lives of Maya descendants in San Cristóbal and San Juan Chamule, where distinctive religious traditions persist. Colonial Oaxaca, yellow Izamal, colorful Campeche, lively Mérida, and the coastal Veracruz reveal other faces of Mexico - along with mariachi and marimba.

The journey ends in a mysterious snake cave with pitch-black darkness, bats, snakes, and rare pink blind fish. Then comes Chiapa de Corzo and Mexican exuberance in the form of music, dance, colorful costumes, masks, and the figures of Parachicos and Chuntas - men dressed as women.

The screening takes place on Wednesday, March 3, 2027, at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall of Záložna in Litovel.
