The Slovak Cycling Federation announces that on Friday, September 18, 2026, the cycling peloton of the 3rd stage of the Tour Around Slovakia will pass through Nový Hrozenkov. The cyclists will ride between 16:10 and 16:20 from the direction of Karolinka through the centre of the village to Vranče towards Kohútka.

About the venue: Jezero "Balaton"

The "Balaton" lake - also known locally as Kačák - is an artificial reservoir of 9.5 ha formed by gravel and sand extraction in the mid-20th century, on the boundary between Nový Hrozenkov and Karolinka. The Na Stanoch recreation area has both grassy and sandy beaches, changing rooms, showers, snack stands, a playground and a beach volleyball court. A notable feature is an artificial ramp for acrobatic water jumps on skis and boards. In winter the frozen lake becomes a skating rink, and summer evenings bring music and dance events. The Bečva cycling trail runs through the grounds.
