About: Petra Janů

Petra Janů (born Jana Petrů, 19 November 1952, Prague) is a Czech singer and actress who established herself in the late 1970s as one of the few authentic rock voices in the Czechoslovak music scene. She built her reputation through the albums Motorest (1977) and Exploduj! (1980), created in close collaboration with guitarist-composer Ota Petřina, and later transitioned to pop music, winning the Zlatý slavík award for Female Singer of the Year three times consecutively (1987-1989). Throughout her five-decade career, she has recorded over twenty albums and performed in thirteen musicals.
