
Jaroslavice Castle Concert: METASTASIO PROJECT
An evening of Baroque arias and cantatas by Pietro Metastasio, performed by soprano Zuzana Badárová with chamber ensemble and narration by actor Martin Myšička at Jaroslavice Castle.
Zuzana Badárová is a Slovak soprano and musicologist based in Brno, specialising in Gregorian chant and Baroque vocal music. She trained at Masaryk University and JAMU - graduating with the role of Poppea in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea - and later attended the Ton Koopman Academy at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She sings with Czech Ensemble Baroque, Ensemble Inégal, Ensemble Versus and Ad Fontes, while pursuing doctoral research on medieval musical culture in Slovakia and Moravia.
Badárová performed as a soloist at the Christmas concerts of the ensemble Le Nuove Musiche in Bratislava, Prešov, and Spišská Nová Ves (December 9-11, 2025), where early Baroque music by Slovak composers of the 17th century was performed.
At Masaryk University and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, she continues as a doctoral student researching medieval musical culture in Slovakia and Moravia, and in 2025 presented her findings at several academic conferences.
In 2025, a chapter by Badárová was published in the scholarly publication Studien zur Alten Musik in klösterlichen Archiven and an article in the journal Musicologica Slovaca.
In 2023 and 2024, she completed prestigious courses at the Ton Koopman Academy at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she performed as a soloist under the direction of Ton Koopman.
