ZLATÉ HUSLE

About

Zlaté husle is a Slovak orchestra founded in 2004 by violinist Martin Sleziak as the resident ensemble of the Lúčnica artistic company. Its members are drawn from leading Slovak institutions - the Slovak Philharmonic, the Slovak National Theatre and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. The repertoire spans classical and operatic works, musical theatre melodies and concert arrangements of Slovak, Moravian and Romani folk music, with forces ranging from a small cimbalom band to a full orchestra of around fifty players. In two decades the ensemble has recorded 11 CDs and performed in more than thirty countries.
