Vladimír Franz is a Czech composer and professor whose music draws on spiritual themes and blends them with a distinctly personal modern idiom. He studied at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts and has composed operas, including Stvoření, premiered at the National Theatre. He gained wider public attention as a candidate in the 2013 Czech presidential election.
